Environmental and Weather Monitoring Datasets
 in Cyprus

Environmental and weather data are critical inputs for precision agriculture and food production planning. These datasets support monitoring of microclimatic conditions (temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind) that directly affect crop growth, pest and disease risk, irrigation scheduling, and harvest planning. They enable farmers, cooperatives, and agri-food industries to make data-driven decisions that improve productivity, reduce resource waste, and support sustainability and climate adaptation strategies across Cyprus and the wider EU region.

The datasers are private generated and owned by EMBIO using its airbeld® IoT environmental monitoring system, deployed in more than 20 locations in Cyprus.

Parts of the dataset are made available free of charge for non-commercial scientific research and educational use. Any commercial use, including product development, service delivery, internal business operations, or monetized AI model training, requires a separate paid commercial license from the data owner.

The dataset consists of continuous time-series measurements collected using the airbeld® IoT monitoring system. Each measurement session includes:

• Parameters: temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, rainfall, solar radiation
• High temporal resolution with continuous data capture (multiple readings per hour)
• Coverage: multiple deployment sites across Cyprus (agricultural, urban, and coastal environments)

Data collection period: 2023 – present (ongoing)

Data can be used at:

• raw level (time-series per sensor/station)
• aggregated level (daily/weekly/monthly averages, anomaly detection)
